Finding creative ways to preserve your story!

Cassandra Hinnegan is not just a single mom; she's a powerhouse navigating the intricate realms of single parenthood and the film industry with unwavering determination. With a heart full of love for her kiddo, who happens to be on the autism spectrum, Cassandra has crafted a life that revolves around resilience, passion, and the art of storytelling.

For the first 15 years of her professional journey, Cassandra honed her skills in administration and bookkeeping, showcasing her knack for organization and precision. However, life had a different script in mind for her, and it wasn't until she discovered the world of video that her true calling began to unfold.

Embracing change with open arms, Cassandra decided to immerse herself in the dynamic universe of film. Her journey led her to the prestigious Toronto Film School, where she dedicated herself to learning every facet of the industry. From gripping narratives to the technical nuances behind the camera, Cassandra delved into the art of filmmaking with an insatiable curiosity.

The pivotal point in her career came when she found a home at Shaw, where she not only worked on short films but also found the space to nurture her skills as a filmmaker. Despite often working independently, Cassandra's tenacity and adaptability allowed her to seamlessly maneuver through various roles, solidifying her versatility in the film industry.

Since 2018, Cassandra has been a vital part of the filmmaking landscape. Recognizing the power of stories and the fleeting nature of time, she developed a keen sense of purpose – to capture the narratives that define individuals before they vanish into the ether. Behind every person, Cassandra sees a story waiting to be told, and she has made it her mission to preserve these tales for posterity.

As her journey progressed, Cassandra realized the profound impact of being a kind and non-judgmental space for people to share their stories. Working primarily with female entrepreneurs, she became a beacon of support, helping them navigate the often-intimidating world of film production. In Cassandra's world, collaboration is key, and together with her clients, she endeavors to create something truly magical on the screen.

Cassandra Hinnegan, the single mom turned filmmaker, is not just capturing moments on film; she is crafting a legacy of empathy, empowerment, and storytelling.
